A little bit about me

Hi there,
I am Jules. I just moved to Anchorage.
I have 23 years of childcare experience, I am 36 years old, I am enthusiastic, energetic, sing-songy, artsy, fun-loving, adventurous, and a lover of life. I have no kids of my own, but many kids, nation-wide, who call me Aunt Jules.
I have been babysitting/nannying since age 13, have built other skills as well, and have worked in Healthcare for 7 years as a nursing assistant,

I thrive in environments in which I can provide compassion, I am great in emergency situations, and of course love being silly.

A cartoon character that best describes me would be Mable from Gravity Falls, or Spongebob Squarepants, though much more intelligent.

My hobbies include, but are not limited to, playing guitar, writing songs, singing, painting, making jewelry, making art of all kinds, playing outside, hiking, collecting more hobbies and cherishing each moment with enthusiasm and gratitude.

I was MADE for this job!

A little bit about me

Hi Families!

I am reliable, communicative and passionate when it comes to childcare. I’ve completed my elementary education degree and have 5 years of full time experience with the anchorage school district (working with special education, preschool and primary grades). I love nature, being outside and enjoying time with my family and friends. I am looking for something to do during the summer until school begins again!

A little bit about me

Born and raised in Anchorage, AK. I like music, family-oriented, hiking/outdoorsy, like pets but don't have any. My main hobby right now is learning to cook and eat healthier. Good with kids. Calming personality. Easy going, laid back and can get along with almost anyone. Organized, good with bedtime and nap routines and enjoy helping kids reach their next milestone. I can be interactive when kids are not allowed to be on screens.

Recent reference

"My daughter lights up and giggles everyday when Maddy walks through the door. Maddy is an intelligent woman who is able to pick up on processes with very little guidance. Which was so helpful since our formula recipe needed to be concentrated and changed multiple times. She helped everyday with little chores around the house while keeping my baby girl entertained. She manages preparing food and bottles as well. We are a no screen household so she is highly interactive with her and was working with us on reaching her next milestone such as, tummy time, sitting up, crawling to walking. Maddy help keep her on a nap schedule and was great with getting her to sleep. She was great about documenting throughout the day so when we came home we knew when she was last fed and how much, how much she slept, etc. I highly recommend her for any childcare needs"

A little bit about me

Hello! My name is GeneA, I’m 23 years old and I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I started babysitting when I was 13 years old for my mothers in home daycare business back in 2015 and I absolutely adored it. Fast forward to 2023 I started working for A daycare that ranged from 3 month old babies to 5 year old children and from there I always made sure I stayed in childcare because I learned so much about how to care for children and how to prepare them for new chapters in their lives while being safe and having fun!

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Anchorage, AK

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Anchorage can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Anchorage Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Alaska?
  • Do you have a Alaska driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
