A little bit about me

I am a mom myself of a very active, funny, Daredevil named Grayson. I am also a self employed VP of an IT company started close to a year ago. During my career life over the years I've worked as a nanny or a trusted sitter for many of my old neighbors or families met through other sites. I started babysitting in highschool. Realized how much I love children and creating experiences and memories that would last a lifetime. Right after highschool I started sitting for a 4 yr old autistic boy who was a friends neighbors son. I watched him for 8 hrs a day, Mon-Fri, so his parents were able to go to work and provide. Not only did I do all the normal feeding times, nap time, outdoor time, reading time activities with him, I had to make sure I followed the specific instructions on how to help and react to any of his autistic handicaps he had. There were certain calm down methods I abided by, foods to feed him, activities specifically created for him and physical and emotional boundaries that needed to be handled carefully with his disability. After being in his life for two years, the family sadly had to place him in a school that was for any kid on the autism spectrum in order to start receiving the state's help for childcare for him. They were sad to have to make that choice, as was I but I understood the decision and only wanted the best for Ethan.

All of the other nannying I've done was for large families. Including the 3 children a few years after watching Ethan. I've always had that motherly instinct and protect and take care of children like I do my own. I respect all the different variations of parenting and follow those guidelines set in place by each family.

I am 33 yrs old, positive, energetic, can fit full time or part time into my schedule and looking for extra income to support my own business. I wanted to make sure if I did get a 2nd job that it would be doing something that helps other busy parents like myself and that I would enjoy it the whole time!

A little bit about me

Hello my name is Sam! I’m currently stationed at MacDill AFB as an administration technician at the 310th Airlift Squadron. I’m only 19 years and I was born and raised in Lubbock Texas. I was a baby sitter for years through high school. I lived in a nice neighborhood where babysitting was always needed. My experience is pretty broad since I spent most of my afternoons with children who are now the ages of 3, 7, and 11! Two of them were boys, Christian and Bryan, and 1 little girl, Aylin. I was fortunate enough to take care of the 3 and 7 year olds as new born babies. To this day I call them as I consider them my own.
I’m fluent in both English and Spanish.
My availability is 5-12pm on the weekday and then any time during the weekand.

How to Find a Babysitter in Tampa, FL

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, a dedicated hiring agent, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Tampa, FL

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Tampa can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Tampa Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Florida?
  • Do you have a Florida driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
