Ariel S. - Seeking Work in Orlando

I am 22 years old; a p-t online student and an experienced nanny. I have 7+ years' experience as a background checked, CPR/First Aid certified part-time nanny/sitter. I am finishing an Associates in General Studies and my next academic goal is to return to school and begin a Bachelors in Psychology. My long term goal is to become a certified, Master's level Art Therapist for Adolescents. I have taken many specialized courses in Child Psychology, Elementary Education, and Human Growth and Development My first experience began as a freshman in high school. I was hired as a part time nanny for the same family for over 6 years. I was a caregiver of 3 boys all of whom were each 6 years apart in Throughout the years I've had the honor of becoming close to a few families, all in which their children varied in age & sex. I began babysitting in high school for a family with 3 boys, all in which were 6 years apart. I still stay in contact & especially the eldest child, who is 13. We keep each other updated on each others lives and family's. He was such a joy to watch grow & I find from personal and educational experience, the pre-teen years are the toughest to go through. I recently nannied for a family of 3 girls, similarly, all were sixyears apart! I became close friends with the eldest daughter. She seemed to enjoy & learn by having me as a mentor around.I would help the children with homework, feed toddler lunch and give each child a healthy snack after school.I also recorded our daily activities to provide information to the parent's. Every child is different & to assume their needs are the same as another will not work out on your behalf! I find it imperative to hire a caregiver that is truly responsible and attentive to the needs of your child. I am punctual and have my own transportation in order to pick up and drop off if ever needed.

I worked as a private nanny and also in daycare center with toddlers where the children adore me. I've gotten positive feedback from their parents so I know I'm doing it right. I have no children of my own so others have shared theirs with me. I have taken care of nieces, nephews, & friends' children. I have had group situations where I was responsible for children. I taught 10 years of formal religious education teaching, those being, 5th-8th grades. I also taught preschoolers during Sunday services. I volunteer for after school activities and school fund raisers. I was cheer coach at the Jr. High level. I helped out with the young golf league for one summer at the country club. I enjoy attending my young relatives sporting activities to cheer them on. My swimming techniques could be redefined and to reassure your concerns, I would update my techinques. I recertified my CPR for infants, last year. I like to educate myself on nutrition when I can, so I shop consciously for healthy meals. I am truly energetic and the bubbly-kind, although most people would say that kindness is my forefront personality. I have several compliments on my youthful appearance. I am the favorite aunt, who has a refrigerator of both front & side-door, of "artist drawings". Even though I spoil them with gifts, interacting with them is what they remember the most. I am the adult who is swept away with a little one, "who just has to show me something they have in the bedroom".

My experience with childcare began early due to my mother being an elementary school teacher. Many parents were in need of a babysitter so I was always recommended and available. During high school I would babysit for two different families on a regular basis. I started my job as a nanny in my first year of college for a neighbors' family of three girls; the youngest being two years old and the oldest being nine. I have participated as a volunteer for pre-schools as well as after school and summer programs. The past years working with children have been a fun experience for me as well as a good learning opportunity. I have worked with so many different children of different age levels, backgrounds, and learning styles.

Through my 7 years of experience in caring for children of varying ages, I've had the wonderful opportunity of working with a very diverse array of families. Most of my nanny experience has been in helping out parents that work full time and need a secondary source of guidance and care for their little ones. What began as a baby-sitting hobby when I was just 14, grew to the humble appreciation of playing a role in children's day to day lives. Whether the duties are as simple as being an after school car-pooler to activities or extensive as getting the gang up in the morning and helping get dinner on the stove at night; I have experienced it all. Being able to help out all different types of families has given me a wonderful sense of respect for parents and all they do! It's about the ebb and flow of each day and making sure it can go as smoothly as possible, life is hard enough. Every child is different, just like every parent. I pride myself with the ability to establish good communication with each family I work for and offer my best effort in filling the services they need met.

I am a mother of 4 grown children in their 20's and 30's. I have a son and daughter and a stepson and stepdaughter. I am also a grandmother with 3 grandsons. Two of my grandsons are currently 1 month old and the third grandson is 7 years old. I love children and am currently babysitting for a challenging 6 year old boy part-time a few hours per week. This job will be ending 7/20th after the completion of his summer program. I have many years of experience raising my own family along with babysitting for my grandsons occasionally since they do not reside in Orlando, Fl. I am a very honest, easy-going, patient, tolerant, fun-loving, and energetic person. I am a bit over-protective and will treat your child as if they were my own. The child's safety and security in all instances is my #1 priority!! I enjoy playtime, playground activities, taking walks in the stroller, rocking babies to sleep, reading time, meal time, quiet time or naptime, and educational activities with children. I also do not mind diaper changes. I am also willing to do some local travel if necessary to transport children to their extra-curricular activities. For example, I currently pick up the little boy I babysit for at his school as he is in kindergarten. I then take him home, feed him a snack, we have some playtime and then homework must be completed for that day. I sometimes walk to the local park in his neighborhood so he can play and interact with other children. I also transport him a couple of times a week to his tutoring class. We sometimes attend birthday parties and on holidays or school days off, we go out to eat and to a movie or a recreational center such as Firkin's or Chuckee Cheese. Your child will be under the best care and supervision if I am chosen to be their nanny. I would do my best to please you and your child with my care. The happiness, health and well-being of your child is my primary goal. Please contact me if interested in a part-time non live-in nanny. Please note that I will also be certified in CPR and First Aid as of 6/23/12.
