A little bit about me…

When i was 12 until about 14, i took care of 10+ children in my churches 'ccd preschool' program, with the help of an adult and up to 2 other pre-teens. Through this i received my babysitting jobs. During high school i had two primary families. The first was a daughter who i had first at the age of 3 months. By the time she was four she had a little brother added onto the mix. The second family had a 7 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. This was sometimes also a therapy session, since their father had died a few years prior and their mother was getting remarried while under my care. Speaking of which, a therapist friend of the family ran an after-school program for her patients that I volunteered at. I would do standard tutoring things, helping with whatever homework they had. But it was also a chance to help these sometimes troubled children learn social skills with one another. I was 15 at the time. My nanny experience came through opportunities with my older sisters. I spent the summer between junior and senior year of high school in the house of one sister and took care of my six-month-old niece, and did some cleaning as well. My other older sister received My assistance over the summer of my 21st birthday, when I watched my 4 year old niece, 5 year old nephew, and 13 year old niece. I am currently working at a toy store at the mall, and although its not officially child care I end up entertaining the children with my wares while the mothers get Christmas ideas.
