I am the oldest of five in my family and have always helped my mom and family members. I have worked with children of all ages. I typically work from the families home, but occasionally will take the children out to their after-school activities, parks, museums(depending on whatever the family prefers). I am currently working with a set of 5yr old twins. I arrive to their home at 1pm to do some light house cleaning . At 3pm, I pick up the kids from school. We do homework first and then play till 6pm.

I have been working as a nanny for 11 years. I began as a mothers helper at age 10 and and found myself intrusted to watch the children overnight while the parents were away. I have worked for several families intermittently through the past 11 years. I have references available. I am flexible with my hours at schedule to a certain extent. My parenting style is democratic yet authoratative. I believe in having the children make a choice together with me. That way they feel independence and yet they were guided as well. I believe in the Montesori style of learning with supervision and guidance. I like to have music interaction, self-play, crafts, walks, play outside, read books, and use my imagination letting children use their imaginations.

I was a full charge Nanny for a family of newborn twin boys, they are 3 yrs old now. I have cared for them since their birth in Nov of 06. My duties were full care overnight and on weekends. I taught them sign language and Spanish, took them out on walks, cooked organically prepared meals and snacks. When the time came, I potty trained them. I did all the shopping and errands for the family. I prepared and cooked meals for the parent as well. Clean, organize and child proof the home. Taught the boys how to swim and practice pool safety. Disciplined them when necessary using only time-out method. I have traveled with the family to their home in the UK. Also I've traveled alone with the twins to meet up with the parent. There was no television allowed for the children until they turned 3 years of age. I often read books with the children, sang songs, we would do imaginary play, listen to music and dance. I took the boys to their Gymboree and Gymnastic classes. We would paint and do crafts, go to the beach and run along the wet sand. I would also schedule play-dates with other families. When the boys got sick I stayed with them until they were feeling well enough to return to nursery school. My role as their Nanny came to an end when the family relocated to Spain in 2009. We are still in contact today via email and phone. Previously, I cared for two elementary school aged boys 5 and 7 yrs old, two hours every morning M-F. I would get them ready for school and lightly-clean the home and do some laundry. Make breakfast and prepare their lunches and drop them off at their schools. I have also worked with a family of twin girls. They were two months old when I first started to care for them. My duties were to help the new parents organize their home and start a feeding schedule. I stayed overnight from 9pm to 7am M-F to feed an change the girls so that the parents could get some rest. I also helped them find a live in Nanny due to their current needs. I was working with two families at the same time, so as much as I wanted to, I could not be their live-in Nanny. I did overnight care for another set of twins girls from newborn to 18 months of age. My hours were from 6am-6pm T-TH and 8:30-2:30 on Sat. I provided full care for the girls while their mother worked from home. I kept their nursery clean and organized. My duties included the laundry, light housekeeping, shopping, cooking for the entire family and errands. I taught the girls basic sign language, and Spanish. Television was minimal to 20min., I would often read and play with the girls. Dancing and singing with them. I took the girls on morning walks to the park and we would explore along the way. We did arts and crafts, and would often do silly things to make them laugh. I was a live in Nanny for a family of identical twin girls for over a year. My duties included overnight care, light housekeeping, laundry, food prep and cooking. I worked alongside with mom. Helping her with sleep training, feeding schedule, and daily activities for their growth and development. The girls are now 16 months old and very active. I teach them sign language and Spanish. I read, dance, sing and play with them every chance I get. I sometimes have to discipline them due to the bitting phase that they are going through right now. It is sad to that the parents are going through a divorce right now, so my position now is with the father. Things happen in life and as a Nanny we can only be there as much as we can for support. For both parents I've helped with the child proofing, shopping, organizing the home, maintaining the girls rooms. I am also the housekeeper for the father. Helping him get his home ready for when it's his time with the girls. I sleep over and help the girls get acquainted with their fathers new home. It is a new transition for them so I try to make it as smooth as possible for the girls and for Dad. I have three sons of my own they are now 23, 22 and 19 years old. I love being a mom and helping new families with their little ones.

I have nannied for two families in the past 5 years. First family I was with was a 8 year old boy. I picked him up from school everyday, did homework with him, took him to after school activities, baseball practice, etc. I was with him until he was about 10. Second family was two boys ages 8 and 13. Both boys played soccer so I did a lot of driving back and forth to different practices.

I have a wide range of experience as a nanny for a family on Lake Sherwood with 6 children living at home from new born-17. The new born was premature so I quickly learned how to care for all of his needs. I also took care of light cooking and cleaning. I drove the children to their sports and activities and tutored one of the high school age boys. I had responsibilities with every child. I also teach Sunday school and high school youth group. I taught high school America Sign Language for two years and I am graduating from CSUN with my degree in Deaf Studies. I come from a large family and hope to be your nanny!
