A little bit about us
Our position is unique because our son has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, but don't let that trick you into thinking he is anything other than a energetic, fun loving toddler. He really enjoys reading books, going on walks, going to the park and zoo, coloring and just relaxing outside, or getting some good cuddles in while watching sesame street. Malcolm is non-verbal but full of giggles. You will not be responsible for any medications. We will show how to use his equipment like walkers, chairs, etc. The occasional need to sit in on physical therapy will be present but his therapist will do the work.
We are looking for someone who is caring, compassionate, patient, and fun. The hours are Monday-Friday 10am-3pm. There is a potential for this position to become full time depending on our needs and as he grows.
Responsibilities include:
-Feeding
-Diapering
-Nap time
-Games and activities
-Light physical therapy
-Light housework(take care of the messes made during your time with Malcolm)
-community outings (walks, park, library, nature trails, etc)
We also have three dogs who are kind but can be a bit loud. You aren't expected to care for them or interact with them, but our Boxer may give you no choice as she loves making friends.
About us the parents: Mom is a regional organizer with a local nonprofit. I enjoy knitting, baking, dancing, singing.
Dad is a commercial property manager who loves board games, video games, loud rock music, skateboarding, and vibing with little man in the garden.
We hope you apply and come join the family!
