A little bit about us

I am looking for a trustworthy, reliable and loving nanny to take care of my amazing littles ones Cristian, who is 2 years old and Lexa, who is 10 months old. They are my absolute heart so I need someone who is going to care for and teach them like their own.

I am starting an accelerated second degree nursing program at the end of May. Until May, I need someone to come in a couple times a week for a couple hours to get to know the kids and their daily routines. I am a big believer in creative exploration play (given its safe, of course!). I would rather my children make a mess from building a fort out of pillows and sheets than be glued to the TV.

Hours:
Start when avail - 2 to 3 days/week for a couple hours for paid trial and getting to know my little ones and family routine.

May: Until the 25th when classes start, I will need to do a lot of studying and prepping. This means we can come up with a schedule that works for both of us.

Starting May 25th I will need someone at 20+ / week and would like to arrange a weekly base pay and overtime schedule that we can figure out together. I say this because there might be weeks where I need you 4 days for 6 hours and then other weeks only 3 days for 6 hours. This is to make sure you are always compensated for your time. 80+ hours will 20/hour in addition to the weekly base pay. Your next monthly schedule will be ready for you by the third week of the month before.

Keeping the house clean and maintained for the healthy and safe environment for the kids is what I'm asking. Dog-friendly is a must. Reliable transportation that is safe for two car seats so you can go to the park, pick up from preschool, grab lunch, etc... You will be reimbursed for gas money when with kids.

CPR certified and how to handle an emergency situation is ideal for this position.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Sherman, CT

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Sherman, CT

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Sherman, CT? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
