A little bit about us

Looking for a nanny that can put away their cell phone and pay 100% attention to our two kids during the day. We have a 3 month old and 3 year old. 3 Year old is lots of work, is on the move all day, loves playing games, going on walks, playing outside, anything physical really. 3 month old is very calm, and sleeps usually half the day. Parents work from home in a closed off area upstairs. We need someone that can primarily look after our 3 year old during the day, and also be flexible and help out with our 3 month old when she needs to be fed or changed, walks, etc. We need someone that can help keep things tidy, cleaning up after lunch, vacuuming, folding kids laundry during down time, etc. I put the note about putting the cell phone away because every nanny I see always has their cell phone out and just texts friends all day. If you do that with our 3 year old son, he will end up getting severely hurt, he touches, and jumps and will eat everything. He needs eyes on him close to a 100% of the day when he's not in his room for nap, otherwise he will find himself in trouble and we'll end up with yet another trip to the emergency room. This will not be an easy nanny job, where you can let our 3 year old play by himself while you sit back and watch. Our nanny will have to be up on their feet playing with our 3 year old and ensuring he doesn't do anything dangerous, because he will try.

Hi there! My husband and I are currently expecting, and we're seeking care to begin in December 2020 or January 2021. Our baby boy will be about 5 months old. We need someone about 3 days a week from 7:30-4:00. We'd love to find a family to share a nanny with in West Town, Logan Square, or Belmont Cragin. We live in West Town, but I work as a teacher in Belmont Cragin. Looking for a nanny who is calm and caring. You can come to our place or we can drop off at yours, or do a combination of both.

What is an Infant Nanny in Chicago, IL

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Chicago, IL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
