A little bit about us
Our son is the youngest Elijah is 7 months old and our middle child Lily is 2 years old. We are looking for a sitter to watch them during the day for a few hours during the week while my wife sleeps during the day after working her overnight shift at the hospital and I'm at work. We also have a dog, Husky/Aussie mix who will likely be in the room while my wife is sleeping but if you'd prefer to have the dog too that is up to you!
Preferred hours will be around 9am-1pm 3x a week. My wife is working on transitioning from part-time to full-time employment again, at this time the days of the week (M-F) are not set in stone which will require care and we can push for stability in scheduling based upon the right fit of the nanny.
As for responsibilities, as long as you can provide a safe, stable, and enriching environment for my kids that is all I'd expect you to do. Outside of the obvious basic courtesy when you're a guest in someone's home, don't feel pressured to do anything like straightening up, dishes, etc.
We want you to be happy as much as we want our kids to be happy. We will make sure drinks, snacks, and anything you need to be comfortable are provided. Both room you will be going between most likely (living room and play room) are connected on the same level have plenty of toys, a sofa, and theater setups so you can watch your favorite Disney movie for the 100th time in all its glory.

What is an Infant Nanny in Bel Air, MD
An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.
Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this age group?
- Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Bel Air, MD? Are you willing to be trained?
- How do you handle a crying baby?
- How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
- What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
- How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
- What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?
You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
