A little bit about us

Hello,

We are looking for a part time nanny for our son this summer. He is 2 years old and the sweetest thing.

We live in Cary in the 27518 area code and enjoy our neighborhood's walkability to grocery stores, parks, and coffee shops!

We are interested in having someone come in 8-10 hours a week. Currently thinking about 2 half days a week. Monday and Wednesday are preferred. Most likely 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. but we can be a little flexible if needed.

We have two cats that are very friendly and will be hanging out around the house. My husband works from home and I will be around most days having some personal time or getting house stuff done. There may be some local appointments that we would ask you to drive for mom and baby! In this case, we would work out an additional gas mileage fee!

I feel like our expectations are very reasonable. We expect our nanny to treat our son with love and kindness and foster a real relationship with us. Safety is key and a person that truly enjoys children is important. A clean background check is a must and we would want the person to either not smoke at all or not smoke the days they work in our home. Dishes and folding laundry when he allows would be amazing!

We have not posted photos of our son online and that will also be very important to maintain.

Someone familiar with sensory needs would be a huge plus!

We would love to chat more and answer any questions you may have!

A little bit about us

Hi there! My husband and I are looking for a warm, attentive nanny to care for our almost 6-month old son in our home in Cary starting as soon as we find the right fit. This is a part-time position with consistent hours and a predictable schedule.
We are looking for someone who can work with us longterm!

Schedule:
• 3 days a week from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Set days: Monday and Thursday, plus either Tuesday or Wednesday
• A few days in July will not be needed (dates to be provided in advance)

About Us:
• I work from home but may quickly step out occasionally during the day
• We have a small, friendly dog (she may bark at first but warms up quickly)
• We’re committed to being screen-free around our son at this stage.
• We just moved from Southern California and we love it here!

What We’re Looking For:
• Infant experience required
• Someone reliable, nurturing, and engaging.
• Someone who has kids OR knows they want kids at some point.
• Comfortable with dogs
• Non-smoker
• Background check and references required
• Our expectation is to be fully engaged with him while he’s awake. Personal calls or other work is fine while he’s napping but not while he’s awake (might sound obvious but we had a strange experience with a previous sitter 😅)

If this sounds like a great fit for you, we’d love to connect.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Cary, NC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Cary, NC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Cary, NC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
