A little bit about us

The Duncan family is seeking a friendly, nurturing, and reliable nanny for our 3 year old son and newborn due in June 2024. The position will begin in late July or early August 2024, and requires availability for 5 days a week from 8:30am-4:30pm at our home.

Our 3 year old son is energetic and curious, and will be starting preschool for half days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning September 2024. Thus, care for him outside of these hours, as well as full time care for the newborn, will be needed.

In addition to caring for the children, we have a 6-year-old Weimaraner who will need to be walked daily. Therefore, we are seeking someone who loves animals as well.

The main responsibilities will include safeguarding our children, organizing creative activities and educational games, preparing meals and feeding both children, changing diapers, taking the dog for walks, and light housework as related to the children.

* Ensuring the children's safety at all times
* Engaging in age-appropriate educational games and activities with our 3 year old
* Feeding and diapering the newborn, providing soothing care and love
* Preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our 3 year old
* Walking our family dog during the day
* Maintaining the cleanliness of the children's rooms and play areas

For this role, previous experience working as a nanny or in a daycare setting is required, as is First Aid and CPR certification. Successful candidates will have a love for children and pets, possess patience and a positive attitude, and be able to handle the energy of a 3 year old as well as the quiet times of caring for a newborn.

The compensation for this position is $[phone number hidden] per hour, with a 35-40 hour work week. We look forward to finding the perfect match for our family!

A little bit about us

I am the mother of a 4 month old baby girl. I am starting back working from home the end of January and am looking for someone to care for her at home while I work for about 5 to 6 hours a day Monday through Friday. My hours are actually pretty flexible with work so I can work with a good match on which hours would be best. I will need this service for a bit over a month since my mother in law is moving to the area and will be taking over her baby care but I would still love to be established with someone who can relieve her one day a week or help when my husband and I travel or have a date night or other events. I’d love someone experienced with infants. We have a dog but you will not need to take care of her. She is a German shepherd who loves hard when she gets used to you. If you are afraid of dogs but are a really good fit we can keep her in the backyard while you are here. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you.

What is an Infant Nanny in Lexington, NC

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Lexington, NC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
