A little bit about us

Our first baby will be born in December and we are very excited! We will both be coming back to work afterwards so we’ll need some help to take care of baby. We are looking for Mon-Fri, [phone number hidden] approximately. Our needs may change depending on the week. We’ll prefer pick-up and drop-off since we’ll most likely be working from home next year, but we can adjust if necessary.

Looking for someone to help with daily daycare pick-up at 4pm for our baby girl Charlie. Her daycare is just 5 min up the road from us. Both mom and dad work and ideally would like for someone to watch Charlie until at least 5:30pm.

Charlie is an easy going baby who likes her play mat, toys and books. Born 8/2/22 she’s nearly 5-months old and a chatty smiley girl.

We are looking for nanny to start late August 2020. We need care for Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays. We live in SW near Multnomah Village and prefer someone that is closer to our location. A little bit about us

Our daughter, Erowyn, was born in mid-July. We are first-time parents, looking for a loving, responsible, reliable, energetic caregiver to provide in-home care for our daughter. I work from home, so I will be present, but we need someone to make our 5-month old their priority while I am working. Currently, we need care Sunday-Tuesday. Ideally, you will work 8 hours per day, roughly 7am to 3pm, but that is flexible. Our dog will also be present in our home, so applicant must be comfortable with dogs. Applicant must be fully vaccinated, including Covid vaccines and boosters. Applicant must have excellent references and be English-speaking. No smokers, please. It would be great if the applicant is CPR, First Aid, and Safe Sleep certified, but is not required. Pay is negotiable for the right applicant. We are hoping to have the applicant start asap. We can't wait to meet you!

A little bit about us

We are a loving family with our first child, 6 month (Dec. 7th) old little boy. We both work full-time and looking for a wonderful, positive, thoughtful and professional nanny with infant experience to support caring for our lil’ guy during the work week.

We’re fortunate he’s a ridiculously happy baby, his current nanny is amazing, but moving, so we are hoping to find someone we can bring into our little circle for the long term.

- 3-4 days (flexible to find the right schedule)
- Your home or ours (near Lewis & Clark college)

Thanks!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Portland, OR

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Portland, OR

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Portland, OR? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
