A little bit about us

My son Maddox is our first child, and he is 2 and 1/2 years old. He is a very sweet and happy baby. He has Down Syndrome. He loves music, playing, and eating! We are looking for someone with experience. We are looking for someone to help us out during the week, mostly in the mornings, so Mom can get some things done. We do have pets, but we will put them away while we are away. Maddox is a very easy child who just loves to be around people!

A little bit about us

Hello, so my work hours vary a lot. But this is mainly for my wife, she’s the one at home with the kids mainly. She works part time as a Speech Pathologist, she works from 4:30pm-7pm, Monday-Wednesday, and sometimes Thursday mornings for about the same amount of time, the times would be discussed the day prior, and if your unavailable then it’s ok. The main days are Mon-Wed. We have 3 kids, a 9 month old boy, a 3 year old girl, and a 5 year old girl. The girls are very good girls, and are capable of entertaining themselves with each other, and we’ll just have you make something very simple we have set aside for them to eat for dinner. The boy does require more attention, but as long as you play with him a little, he’ll also crawl around and play. He likes to play with his sisters as well. We’ll have you get there at 4pm, and the kids will already be at home when you get there, and then my wife will be home shortly after 7pm.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in McAllen, TX

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in McAllen, TX

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in McAllen, TX? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
