A little bit about us

Looking for someone reliable and trustworthy. I need someone on a regular basis for 1-2 days per week. I also need a date night sitter which would be a random evening once or twice a month Picking up toys, daily chores such as dishes/sweeping and feeding the children would be expected.

We will be homeschooling so if you have experience or would feel comfortable with helping that would be a bonus!

We are a Christian family who encourages reading our bibles and praying. We would welcome this influence from a trusted care giver. We follow a schedule, we discipline and tell our children no. They are well behaved children. We are adamant about manners and would expect them to be enforced. We limit screen time and have no personal devices for the children. The children play well independently. Playing along is always encouraged :)

A little bit about us

Hello! We’re Jarrett and Emily, living in Rhome, TX in a clean, safe neighborhood with our 1-month-old baby boy, two friendly medium-sized dogs, and a shy cat. We are both first responders with unique schedules—I’m a police officer working days and my wife is a 911 dispatcher working mostly nights. We are seeking a dependable, long-term nanny starting Tuesday, December 29, 2026.
THE JOB:
Simple infant care: feeding, diaper changes, naps, and interactive play. Occasionally letting the dogs outside. To protect our baby's developing immune system, our home must be 1-on-1 care only (no bringing your own children, please).
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES:
• Proven infant/newborn experience & clean background check (non-negotiable)
• Non-smoker with reliable transportation, living fairly close by
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to get it ASAP)
• Religiously Christian family
• Highly punctual, strong communication, & seeking long-term consistency
PAY & TAXES:
Up to $25/hr on the books (W-2 payroll; standard Social Security/Medicare tax withholding). Valid SSN/tax forms (W-4/I-9) required.
SCHEDULE (Tue–Fri Availability Window: 8:45 AM – 8:45 PM):
Because our jobs review shifts quarterly, our schedule varies (1–3 days/week, 6–26 hrs/wk).
• First Week (Dec 29 to 30): From 2:45 PM – 8:45 PM (12 hrs total).
• Quarterly Rotations: Rotation A (Tuesdays only) or Rotation B (Thursdays & Fridays), plus occasional 6-hr Wednesday blocks as needed.
• Shift Lengths (Depending on Mom's shift):
Mom on Nights (Current): 2:45 PM – 8:45 PM (6-hr shifts). Mom sleeps during the day, leaves for dispatch at 4:30 PM; Dad returns from patrol by 8:45 PM.
Mom on Days: 8:45 AM – 6:45 PM (10-hr shifts).
We are a friendly, easygoing family looking to find and keep a wonderful nanny for the long haul. If this unique schedule and our family sound like a great match, we'd love to connect with you soon!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Rhome, TX

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Rhome, TX

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Rhome, TX? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
