A little bit about us

Looking for a Loving Extra Set of Hands — Part-Time Babysitter/ Family Helper

We’re looking for one reliable, trustworthy, and kind person to become an extra set of hands for our family. Our daughter is 11 months old, so being comfortable and confident with infants is a must. She’s in daycare part-time (MWF), and on her “home” days I’m usually with her — but I sometimes need support. We’re located in Spring Grove.

Must be ultra comfortable with dogs as we have a big 2.5 old lab who is a bundle of energy and doesn’t realize his size 😂

With summer ending and our cousins back in school, we’re hoping to find a dependable part-time helper to assist with our daily routine.

The role would include:
* Childcare with our baby (engaging playtime, feeding, walks, etc.)
* Light household help (laundry, dishes, tidying)
* Occasional family support while I meal prep or work from home
* Nanny shifts when I have appointments on her home days
* Evening babysitting (most often while baby is asleep, or occasionally putting her to bed)
* Potential sick care if she needs to stay home from daycare on my work days (not required but would be extra helpful and would depend on the illness)

The schedule will vary week to week, so flexibility is important — sometimes hours may be planned ahead, and other times may be more last-minute. I’d love to find one dependable person we can build a relationship with, rather than working with multiple sitters. Looking ahead, there’s also potential for a more consistent nanny role as our family eventually grows.

If you’re dependable, love infants, and are happy to pitch in, we’d love to hear from you!

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Spring Grove, IL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
