A little bit about us

I am needing care two days a week for my infant son. We have childcare covered Minday-Wednesday thanks to family, but we are needing a sitter for Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-5:30pm due to both parents working full time.

My husband returns to work June 24th, so June 27th would be the start date we are looking for. My son would be just over 3 months old at that time.

We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs stay in their crates while we are gone during the day so you would not be expected to include them in your care if that is too much. The cats tend to keep to themselves or their windowsills during the day. I just want anyone to be aware in case of any allergy restrictions.

Also for some information on my son, he has thankfully been a fairly easy baby. He is our first child and we are new parents. He takes fairly regular naps and only has 1 or 2 fussy days during the week typically. He enjoys being read to and being talked to with direct eye contact. He's at the age where he is discovering more of the world every day, so he is quite curious at what goes on around him. We also use the app Huckleberry to track things for him, we would request that our nanny also have the app in order to ensure accuracy for our future doctors appointments if it's not too much trouble.

What is an Infant Nanny in Republic, MO

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Republic, MO? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
