A little bit about us

We are looking for a future day nanny to work in our home, Monday-Friday, from 8am-3pm. We are an LGBTQ couple who have just had a baby girl. I am a teacher and my husband works from home and needs assistance during the main working hours of the day to watch our child. We are looking for someone to start around October/November when I return to work from Paternity leave. We have one daughter, who will be about 7-8 months. They would need to take care of feedings, diaper changes, and general care of an infant child. Be aware that we also have two dogs in the home—a French bulldog and Doberman—who are both very friendly, so able to work around animals is a must.

A little bit about us

My husband and I both work out of our home in Woodcreek Farms (occasionally having to go into the office for meetings, etc) and are looking for full-time help (40 hr/week) with our 5 month old twin boys and 2 year old daughter. We were fortunate enough to keep our daughter at home with us while we worked from home during the pandemic but once our boys were born, we knew keeping all 3 here with us wasn't going to be possible anymore! Our daughter is currently in an in-home daycare and our boys are still at home with us. We would love to have all 3 of them together and because of that, have decided that having a nanny is our ideal situation! Our twins are just learning to roll over but are very vocal, smiley, and happy boys. Their big sister, our 2 year old, is a very smart, energetic toddler who loves helping take care of her little brothers. Our ideal schedule would be Monday - Friday, 8AM-4PM but we're flexible with that schedule since we do work from home most of the time.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Elgin, SC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Elgin, SC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Elgin, SC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
