A little bit about us

I have a newborn that needs overnight care on the weekends. I work 12 hr shifts during the day time and she is currently very active at night. It’s very difficult to manage sleeping for work and caring for her at nights, 9:30p-6a, Thursday-Sunday. She has basic newborn/baby needs. Light cleaning around the house is appreciated as I try to keep the home clean and healthy. There is expected to be a day sitter to relieve you afterwards. She has her own room so there will be somewhere to sleep. I prefer her sitter to be CPR certified and experience with newborns or young children, has own transportation, drug free, non-smoker (Nom smoking household), punctual, and clean. Preferably fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or recent negative COVID test along with flu vaccination or neg flu and neg RSV test.

A little bit about us

We’re looking for someone to watch our 1 year old and newborn Monday through Thursday from about 7:30-4:30. It will occasionally be our 5 year old on days that school is out. I’m a teacher so some of those days I’ll have off too. I’ll be on maternity leave for 8 weeks once the baby is born in September but will still ask that you watch our son and occasionally pick up our daughter from school during my maternity leave. We’d like someone with a safe car who can take them to do things such as the library or park. Ideally we would like to find somebody who has experience with children who have Type 1 Diabetes but if you are willing to learn that would be great. You would not be caring for our oldest all the time so it would not be a regular responsibility.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Florence, SC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Florence, SC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Florence, SC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
