A little bit about us
My work as a birth doula and my husband's work commitments mean that we often juggle multiple things at once. We're passionate about what we do & try to balance it all while keeping things running smoothly. I have a flexible schedule, & my husband works daytime hours. The majority of your work hours will be Monday-Friday, from 8 AM to 1 PM, with occasional weekend shifts (which would be rare). If you do work a weekend, you’ll get time off the following week to compensate.
Occasionally, I may be out of the house attending a birth. If my husband is unavailable, you would take the lead on caring for the children. I also work from home when I’m not at a birth, & I homeschool our kids. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside me as a mother’s helper or have some time to yourself.
Other responsibilities will include light meal prep for the children and tidying up after them. We’re an active family, & we often go on playdates, trips to the zoo, or visit the children’s museum. You are welcome to join in on these activities & we may ask that you take the children sometimes.
We travel several times a year to visit family, & you’re welcome to join us, take time off to travel, or stay home as you prefer. We offer room and board, access to a car, and a private bedroom on a separate level from us with an attached bathroom, a large closet, and a TV.
We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable integrating into our family dynamic, but we also respect your personal time and space. As a former live-in nanny, I understand the importance of this balance. You’re welcome to join us for meals & family time, but we also understand and respect your need for privacy/downtime
If this sounds like a good fit for you, we’d love to hear from you!

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a live-in nanny job interview. Here is a list of some live-in nanny interview questions you should ask:
- Can you tell me about where in the house I will live? Will I have my own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc? Do I have my own entrance?
- What are your expectations around the cleanliness and tidiness of my living quarters?
- What level of privacy can I expect after hours?
- Will I have a curfew in the evenings when I am in charge of the kids the next day?
- Can I have guests over during my days off and only with the employers prior agreement? Am I allowed guests overnight?
Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
