A little bit about us
Monday-Thursday I need someone to wake the oldest around 12, give him his medicine and get him dressed for school before putting him on the bus. While he’s away, you’d need to care for the younger one. When the oldest returns around 4:30, you need to feed them both before settling them for their nap. On Fridays, when the oldest is done with school, I will need you to drop them to their father’s house roughly 5 min drive away.
Sometimes they wake up far earlier than noon, and you would have to wake up with them. When they wake up earlier, you can end your shift that much earlier :)
With the exception of preparing them lunch, there aren’t many household chores I need help with. If you could just pick up after the boys as they go, do light sweeping and put dishes in the dishwasher that’s about it.
Neither are potty trained yet.
My husband and I work opposite schedules so it’s very hard for us to find time to sleep or relax while caring for the children Monday-Friday. We will be home most times you watch the children but will be getting sleep for work or making appointments. I have several health problems that make it hard to care for the boys consistently.
You will have your own bedroom, mini fridge, closet and dresser. You’ll have full access to several premium streaming services. You are more than welcome to make use of anything in the main fridge or cabinets, washing machine, and anything you need to be comfortable. If you’re interested in exercise I can put you on our gym plan. We are very close to a bank, grocery store, hospital, bus line, and many other amenities.

Types of Live-In Nanny Jobs and Nanny Responsibilities in Binghamton, NY
Before you start looking for a live-in nanny job, it's essential to make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities by learning about the different types of nanny jobs and how they compare to each other.
Most nanny jobs vary in responsibilities and time commitment (e.g. the number of hours worked each week or the length of the commitment). There are temporary live-in nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer live-in nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary live-in nanny positions, there are differences between full-time live-in and part-time live-in nanny jobs. Given that live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want, it's very important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.
How to Interview for Live-In Nanny Jobs in Binghamton, NY
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a live-in nanny job interview. Here is a list of some live-in nanny interview questions you should ask:
- Can you tell me about where in the house I will live? Will I have my own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc? Do I have my own entrance?
- What are your expectations around the cleanliness and tidiness of my living quarters?
- What level of privacy can I expect after hours?
- Will I have a curfew in the evenings when I am in charge of the kids the next day?
- Can I have guests over during my days off and only with the employers prior agreement? Am I allowed guests overnight?
Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
