A little bit about me

My passion is to work with children. Since January 2014, I have been taking care of children and even training others to work with them. I have around 5 years of work experience. I am currently enrolled in a diploma program at De Anza College in Cupertino, furthering my learning on Child Development. I want to continue to work with children on a part-time basis and I am really eager to find a family I can help.

A little bit about me

I am a mother of 2 children, aged 8 and 10. I have been a nanny for 1 year to a child who was 4 months old when I met her and is now walking! I have loved every minute with her. I take care of her and help her parents by doing the laundry and light cleaning around the house. I am CPR & First Aid certified and am fluent in Spanish.

"Natali was a Godsend to our family. I had to go back to work after maternity leave and hated the idea of leaving my baby in day care with strangers. We met Natali through a mutual friend and the connection she had with my daughter was instant. They truly love each other and it has given me such comfort and peace of mind when I leave the house each day knowing my daughter has Natali. Natali sings songs and plays music, reads stories, and is constantly next to our daughter wherever she goes. She does our daughter's laundry and washes the dishes. When the baby is sleeping, she'll dust or mop or vacuum, generally cleaning up around the house, which is so helpful. She was always on time, usually early, and very flexible if I had to work late. She uses public transportation, which I know makes her day very long, so if I did have to work late I would offer to drive her home. She's been a great blessing to us and we will miss her now that I get to stay home. Happy to share more info"

A little bit about me

Hello! I'm Vanesa, a caring individual with a strong love for children. For 8 years, I've worked as a kindergarten teacher, nurturing and educating children aged 3 months to 5 years. Also I was babysitter in new jersey and I worked as a summer camp daycare teacher in Step One Academy LLC in new jersey. This experience granted me deep understanding of their needs and emotions, along with skills in maintaining a safe, stimulating environment. Despite my basic English, I'm highly motivated to learn and improve quickly. I'm excited to support your children's growth.

A little bit about me

I'm looking for a family who needs roughly 4 days per week of regular care. There is flexibility though.

I'm a fun but firm babysitter, crunchy, and Christian, looking for a like minded family. I generally love taking kids out and about to libraries and parks. I’ve babysat on and off since I was 14, have been a live-in nanny, and was with a family full time with a 1 and 2 year old for a few years after college. I’m comfortable with all ages.

I just gave birth to my first daughter in September and am looking for a family that doesn’t mind her being with me and or a family who is looking to have their child with another kid, but not in a daycare setting. This could work well for a 3 or 4 year old girl, for example, who likes babies and would enjoy being around a baby all day. I’m looking to start in April but could start earlier if needed.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in San Jose, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

San Jose Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in San Jose? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in San Jose?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
