A little bit about us…
Hey there! My kids are Clay, Konan, Haven, and twins Beau and Esme. They are all super sweet and very easy going. I am looking for someone who can can watch my older three (and sometimes the twins) from 3-8/8:30ish on weekdays. I am a part-shift NICU nurse and also an interior designer and I am in need of help with my kids. My husband is a music producer and works all day long in his studio. I need some extra help with cleaning and meal prep, as well! My oldest son, Clay, is very easy going and will mostly listen to whatever you say. He does love playing and will always beg for snacks but he is super sweet! My oldest daughter, Haven, is def the trouble maker and will be a bit of a handful, but she listens to her brother. My 1yo, Konan, is a super precious and sweet baby. He loves all people and animals and will want to snuggle and love you all day long. He’s def a mama’s boy! My boy/girl twins, Beau and Esme, are 4 months old and I may need some extra help with them sometimes. Usually, I take them with me to meetings and interviews. However, there may be times that I can’t bring them! They are easy going and will probably sleep for majority of the time because they usually go down for a nap at 3 and another one at 7. I also have two dogs! One Australian Shepherd, Surfer, and a Poodle mix, Bohdi! They will need lots of love and food but they love people! They are super good with the kids too! I have an orange fluffy cat named Yogi who usually hides during the day. If you see him, you’re lucky! Lol!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Lake Worth, FL

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Lake Worth Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Lake Worth? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Lake Worth?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in FL? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
