I've worked for two different childcare centers. I worked with children from infants to three years old and i still babysit for some of the families that went to the daycare that i worked at. I worked at one center for five years and another for 13 years. I love working with children and helping them to learn and grow. I love to see children happy. Ive always wanted to work at a childcare center or nanny. I think helping children learn is the best part about caring for children because you learn with them too. They also learn from you. Children are our future and should always be looked at for that reason. Children learn in many different ways. When working with children I get down to their level and at their eye level. Every child was treated with dignity and respect. Ive done lesson plans and curriculum as well as evaluations on children from infants to five years old.

I live in a huge family of 8. I'm the youngest but my mom use to adopt children all the time and I would help take care of them. My last job I worked at a daycare in Andover but had to leave because I played softball for my high school at the time.

Hi! My name is Melissa. I am currently a senior in college and I love to work with kids. I am someone who is friendly, fun, caring, and energetic, and also someone who is responsible and flexible, as well. Throughout my high school and college career, I have had the privilege of working with children in many different ways. During my junior and senior years of high school, my primary job was baby-sitting for multiple families on a weekly basis. Not only did I provide child care for these families, but I came prepared with games, crafts and interactive children movies to make it fun and exciting for the kids while their parents were away. During my summers throughout high school, I worked at kids' camps filling various positions from overnight counselor, to directing activities such as sports, games, crafts and music/drama. Even though I am now in college I still work with children, but in slightly different ways. I still occasionally baby-sit but the majority of my work with kids these days are tutoring children from the community grades K-8th. Just recently on top of this I started working occasionally for a family in the community watching their 19-month-old twins. My other experience working with children is teaching the 4 and 5-year-class at my local church each Sunday. These kids are full of energy and life, but they are a joy to work with each week. I always leave with a smile on my face. Working with children has always been a pleasure for me. Last summer, I was a full-time nanny for a family with three kids, a 10-year-old and 6-year-old twins. Not only have I had the pleasure of working with kids from the community, but I have also had the wonderful opportunity to be a big sister. When I was 10 years old, my little sister was born and I quickly became mother's little helper. I was thrilled to have a little baby sister to take care of. Not only have I cared for and baby-sat my little sister over the years, but now that she is almost 12 years old we have become good friends. She is someone I will care for and love for the rest of my life. Nurturing and caring for children is something that has always been a part of my life and something that I don't think I could ever give up. I have always enjoyed seeing children develop and grow as they experience life. Even after college I intend to seek a career working primarily with children and families. In May, I will be graduating from college with a major in social work and plans to enter the field of children, youth, and families. I am planning to continue my education in graduate studies here in Boston come this fall, but this allows me the summer off, from May until August. So, I am looking for a full-time summer position, but I will also consider part-time as well. Depending upon my school schedule, I also would be available if interested for a part-time position throughout the rest of the year. I hope that you will consider me in your search and I look forward to hearing from you.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Tyngsborough, MA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Tyngsborough Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Tyngsborough? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Tyngsborough?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
