hello! my name is farrah. I've been wanting to do nannying for a while now. I love kids and animals, I used to babysit my brother when I was growing up, and I've taken care of my cousins through out the years. I'm a hard worker and am not picky about the money. I will take care of your home, I love cleaning, and I'm good with directions, I can help with homework (unless its math) lol ,my availability is open for the most part except for Tuesday and Thursday nights because I have school.

Hello, my name is Erin and I am 24 years old. I am currently a graduate student at University of Scranton getting my doctorate in Physical Therapy. I have always loved children and am considering going into pediatric physical therapy. I have been a full time nanny for two different families during 3 different summers, was a camp counselor for 6 years, and have been babysitting since I was 13 years old. I currently am home for the summer and would love to have another nanny job!

My name is Megan and I am 25-year-old with at least 10 years of experience working in the childcare field. I started out as a mother's helper in my neighborhood in my early teenage years. As I got older and gained more experience, I started working more regular babysitting jobs with all different kinds of children. When I graduated from High School in 2006, I went away to college at Frostburg University focusing on Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I, unfortunately, only attended Frostburg University for 2 years before returning home to a more local college. This mostly had to do with the distance from home and at the time my uncertainty of what I wanted to do with my life. Since then, I have been taking a class here and there through Harford Community College and working, trying to find a good balance. I have been working continuously since the summer of 2007 as a senior camp counselor. I am also a daycare director for a before and after-school program. I have been doing this for going on 5 years. Because I am still currently working, I am only looking for evening and weekend jobs as of right now. I will admit that the majority of my most recent experience is with school age children, but I have still had ample experience with infants and toddlers. I was just recently re-certified in CPR and First Aid due to requirements for my job, and have taken about 40 hours of childcare training each summer for my job. I also have my 90-hour childcare certification as well as multiple childcare classes I was required to take as a director. I like to think of myself as a big kid in some ways, which is probably why I love working with children so much. At the same time, I also think that I am very level headed and I take my jobs very seriously. I like to work really hard to do the best I can and I'm very committed with my jobs. I've worked for almost 7 years and I like to think that it proves that I am definitely not a quitter and take my job very seriously. I absolutely love what I do. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my profile! I hope you have a great day!

I started babysitting when I was 12 years old, I have a brother and a step sister that are 10 years younger than I am and spent a lot of my teen years watching them, as well as friends of the family. I have continued to babysit since than. I have a daughter she will be 3 in April, I also have 2 step sons they are 8 and 13 I have helped raise them for the past 6 years. I started my first nanny job about 2 months ago for a baby girl she is now 6 months old. I bring my daughter with me and we both adore her, unfortunatly for me her father got a promotion so her mom will be able to quit her job within a month to stay home, I know this is great news for them. I have really enjoyed my experience as a nanny which is why I would love to continue to do it.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Forest Hill, MD

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Forest Hill Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Forest Hill? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Forest Hill?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MD? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
