A little bit about me
Throughout my life I’ve moved around a lot, and that may or may not have caused me to shy away from getting to know people. My mom put me in camps, outdoor activities anything to get me to open up. Eventually I did.
I love to bake, cook, and go on walks. Any type of adventure and I’m in. Even if that means going for some Ice cream and sitting outside in the park! I have been babysitting kids from age 10. I recently worked at a YMCA Camp Kanata working with ages 6-16 year old boys and girls! Thank you!

A little bit about me
I started sitting for a few families here and there around 14 years old, and my experience has only grown since. In high school, I had around 5-6 families that I regularly babysat for during the weeks, on the weekends, and a few weeks in the summer. In college, I picked up babysitting shifts anytime I was free and one was available. Now that I have graduated college and settled into Asheville, I would love to find a good fit with a family and create a real bond with the kids.
I have the most experience with children ages 1 month old to 8 years old, but am comfortable with working with any ages. I am certified in infant CPR, CPR, and First Aid by the American Red Cross. I am willing to do laundry, meal prep, run errands and any other household chores in addition to providing childcare.
The most important thing to me as a nanny is not only caring for the children but also using our time together to make memories, be adventurous, learn something new, and be good people to one another and others around us. I am nanny that will create fun indoor-outdoor games like scavenger hunts, nature walks, fort building, and much more for the kids. I will make lunch time fun, teach them, be patient with them and answer their questions, protect them, and be stern when needed but also be their friend. I am also a nanny who knows the importance to cleaning up after activities, meals, and any other time.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Asheville, NC
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Asheville Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Asheville? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Asheville?
- Do you have a driver’s license in NC? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
