A little bit about me
My name is Mackenzie, I’m 26 and while I don’t have kids of my own, I’ve always loved caring for them. I own a commercial cleaning business, but I truly miss the energy and joy that comes with working with children!
I’ve been working with kids since I was 16—starting in daycare and later with several wonderful families. I nannied two boys in Franklin for two years, provided before/after-school care, and helped a family with five girls. I’ve also been with a family in Sparta for a few years.
I’m CPR and First Aid certified, have experience with infants through school-aged kids, and enjoy being active and helpful. I have my own car and am happy to assist with light tidying and kids’ laundry—but not household chores for parents or older family members.
I’d love to bring warmth, reliability, and fun to your home. Thanks for reading!
Warmly,
Mackenzie

A little bit about me
My name is Sara I’m an 18 year old nursing student. I have Nannied for two years and mostly with younger children. I am available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Happy to help around the house as well, I am the oldest of five and know how hard it can be to maintain a tidy home. I am also glad to meal prep, and accommodate to any allergies or dislikes. I have a drivers license and my own car. If there are any activities the child needs to get to I can definitely take them. Maybe a trip to the park or to get ice cream would be fun too. I am very respectful of rules and boundaries, whatever you say goes. Apart from that I love kids, it’s the reason I’m pursuing nursing. I like caring for them and creating a bond. I hope to be an important caring person for your child.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Sparta, NJ
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Sparta Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Sparta? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Sparta?
- Do you have a driver’s license in NJ? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
