I started babysitting when I was 9 years old for the newborn next door from there I put out flyers in the neighborhood and several neighbors used me for childcare. Quite a few recommended me to friends and I cared for their children as well.

My childcare experiences changes as each child grows from one stage to another.Example, when they are babies. Their day to day care are not as demanding, mainly because they do very little at that stage. As we know their needs consist of feeding, naptime, baths, walking and some stimulation. However as they move into toddler stage the requirement changes.Because there are much more active and so, one needs to ensure proper care and safty. Such as, children should never leave unattended at anytime, they move very quickly at that stage and can get into things that can be harmful to health and well being. They are curious at that age and only want to explore their surroundings. However they should be able to do so without any harm.So as your child grows from baby, to toddler and so on. each experience will be different because the requirments do not stay the same.

I have babysat in the past for family and friends. I would babysit regularly for a family while I was in my second year of college. They had a daughter who was 3 years old and a son who was 6 years old. I would care for the 3 year old alone until the bus came from school and then I would help the son do his homework and eat. In the summer I would take them to the park. Ever since I was younger I would care for my younger cousins- making sure no one played in the street when we were out, making sure everyone was okay when the adults were inside. I've always watched kids in elementary school and middle school, with responsibilities of helping with homework, having dinner and driving them to and from sports practices and concerts. I'm mindful of the parents discplinary wishes.

Kinga’s reliable, dependable, proactive, diligent, Self-motivated , a great leader, and a great follower. knows when to play and when to be serious; when to be irreverent and when to conform; and when to challenge and when to back off. Nikki is great with our son. He is 3 (almost 4) and Nikki is basically his best friend. He talks about her all the time. Nikki and him play games, build stuff, play outside and eat snack. Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Centereach, NY

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Centereach Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Centereach? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Centereach?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in NY? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
