Reference from a family I worked with for many years: January 21st, 2016 To Whom It May Concern: Kristen has been our babysitter for 7 years. She began taking care of our three boys at the ages of 6 months, 3 years, and 5 years. Despite the difficulty of taking care of three young active boys, Kristen has been able to manage their behavior while also creating a loving, nurturing environment for them. Kristen has taken on many roles as our care giver. She has taken on the responsibilities of caring for an infant, preparing meals, following through with our established family bedtime routine, and, has taken on the difficult task of getting three children ready for school in the mornings. Over the years, Kristen has engaged our children in various activities. She enjoys playing sports and board games with them, preparing treasure hunts, and taking them to the park or other outings. In addition, she has participated in driving the kids to various commitments (sports/playdates) they have been involved with over the years. Babysitting for our children has become more than just a job for Kristen. She has made a connection with our family that will last a lifetime. I have been privileged to have had many positive experiences with babysitting, nannying and childcare in general! The most recent and longest duration was for a lovely family in Greenwich, CT. I nannied as a live-in for three summers. They were so kind as to invite me to Paris, France with them to assist in the childcare as well as French translation for them during their family’s move to Paris in the summer of 2009 (I grew up in France and was therefore able to assist them in the transition). When I began with this family, their oldest boy was 6, followed by a 4 year old girl and finally a 6 month year old girl. My responsibilities included house work and light cooking but mostly reading, making up stories with the kids and generally playing any sport they felt like attempting! I nannied for another family before that, slightly older children (between ages 6-10, 2 boys one girl) also in Greenwich, Connecticut, again very similar experience to the one afore mentioned. Finally I also worked with a family with two girls ages 2 and 3 in Tonawanda, New York. Throughout this time, when not living with these families (ie. Attending school or university) I worked in both the nursery at my church as well as a Sunday school teacher, teaching children ages 6-12. My own family consists of an older brother and two younger ones (5 and 7) whom I regularly visit and babysit.

From October 2003 until this September, I have been a nanny for the same family, taking care of their two children from infancy to age 8. For several years before that, I worked as a consistent summer and after school babysitter for a family with three children. Over the past 10+ years, I have babysat for many other families on various occasions, and I have worked in the Sunday School program at my church, where I was the lead volunteer in a room of 15 two-year-olds. Most recently, I completed an internship at where I gained experience in helping children and families cope with illness and hospitalization, as well as coping and relaxation techniques. Throughout the internship, I was also supervisor of the patient/sibling playroom on a medical floor.
