A little bit about me
I have past experience taking care of children as a babysitter, as well as working with kids in a classroom setting in my mom's 5th grade class, both of which I have had a fun time with. I've also worked as a lifeguard for the past two years where I have responded to emergencies and taken care of young patrons.

A little bit about me
To tell you a little bit about myself, I have been working with children for about nine years now as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, and most recently a nanny assisting with online learning for a family of three. I have worked with newborns to 13 years old, including a handful of children with autism. I have a BA in English Literature and Studio Art and I recently relocated to Corvallis from Michigan as my husband pursuits a degree at OSU.
I like to keep kids active and adore hikes, board games, and lots of art and creativity. Also, I am a busy body and will keep the house sparkling clean, with meal prep and laundry assistance if need be.
In regards to COVID-19, I am fully vaccinated and, due to my relocation, have a tiny social circle.

A little bit about me
When I work with children, my primary goal is to create an enriching environment where they feel heard, valued, and supported. I want to foster their individuality while encouraging confidence and creativity. It's important for me to ensure that each child knows they are important and understood.
In addition to nannying services, I can also help out with light and deep house keeping, grocery runs, and light meal prep.
I am CPR certified and have my own transportation as well. Please reach out with any and all questions you may have! Have a great day:)

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Corvallis, OR
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Corvallis Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Corvallis? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Corvallis?
- Do you have a driver’s license in OR? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
