A little bit about me

I have never been a nanny but I have 5 grandbabies ranging from 6 months to 6 years old and I am always watching them, this is my favorite things hobby. My work history consists on being a nuclear technician for 20+ years, I quit nuclear when I decided to open up my own small business. Grandma Cyl's Homemade Pierogi food trailer which was very successful but unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer. With all of the surgeries and other joys that go along with cancer I have been forced to temporarily step down from my business. I still carry my nuclear medicine license for a back up plan. I am not currently CPR or first aid licensed but I was for 20+ years. I still have 2 more surgeries to complete dealing with my breast cancer but I am cancer free. I am just looking for a little work to keep me busy.

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Destiny and i have been around kids my entire life, i had to watch my baby brothers growing up bc my parents would always fight and leave so i would be made watch them, now that i am out of that situation i am engaged to someone that has a 3 year old daughter who means the world to me. i also used to be an apartment cleaner for a collage complex so i have been in some messy situations but i always got the places spotless. the only times i would ask not to work is Thursdays and the weekends, thats when i get to see my step daughter. A little bit about me

Retired RN. I am 58 yrs old white female. I have experience with 2 and 3 children at a time. Can assist with homework if needed. Make healthy food choices. My children and family's have always been very happy with me and we have become friends. My medical background is so helpful and also food preparation. I know what it's like to have to work and leave your baby with someone else. I had to do it. My sitter at the time I knew cared and loved my daughter so much. Which is decreases your stress. It's hard to work and raise our children.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Butler, PA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Butler Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Butler? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Butler?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in PA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
