I have been babysitting my niece, nephew, two little cousins and my boyfriends baby brother as well as my neighbors children since I was age 12. This involved taking them to the pool and one of the children had autism. I enjoyed it very much. I currently work at the goddard school as an assistant teacher. It is fun, but hard.

I would describe my personality as, friendly, warm, compassionate, energetic, creative, thoughtful, and honest. I am the mother of 4 grown children. I am CPR certified and I am great at baby proofing. The family has 2 children, they were 4 and 2 when I started in 2007 and my position ended in Aug 2009. The parents decided to put the youngest boy in full time day care, my duties for those 2 yrs included, meal prep, children's laundry, cleaning up after children, engaging children in age appropriate play, light teaching such as alphabet, colors, shapes etc, and lots of hugs and kisses. We did a lot of outdoor play when the weather permitted, and the children loved to do arts and crafts. My hours were from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday - Friday. I have many years of experience and genuinely love children. I take my nanny job very seriously. I have always treated every child I have taken care of like they were my own. I am hoping to find another great family to be a part of. My second nanny position was for a young single mother who lived with her mother who was a full time nurse and could not watch the baby. I started when the baby was a few weeks old in April of 09 and the position ended late October of 2011, because she had another baby and decided to be a stay at home mom for awhile. They live fairly close by so I do on occasion watch the both children on a weekend day/night. My duties were pretty typical, bathing, meal prep, straightening up after the child, teaching him numbers, colors, shapes, etc, singing, dancing, and just providing a healthy, fun, stimulating day for the child. My hours were from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. I have many years of experience and genuinely love children. I take my nanny job very seriously. I have always treated every child I have taken care of like they were my own. I am hoping to find another great family to be a part of.

Nereida was always on time and attentive to my child’s needs. She helped around the house with minor things and also drove my child when necessary. In addition, some weekends she would be on call for me in case I needed her as a back up. - Keila

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Hatboro, PA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Hatboro Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Hatboro? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Hatboro?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in PA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
