More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My first ever job was a full-time nanny during a summer, then I began to care for the children after school. I have also worked at a YMCA as a childcare worker and summer camp counselor caring for kids from 6 weeks-13 years of age. In my last year of high school, I volunteered as a 1st grade school teacher assistant in my free time. Now I am a college student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Child Development in hopes to become a Child Life Specialist.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As I am learning more about children development in school, I love to provide activities to further their learning and development. Most importantly my job will require me to remain health and safety to your child, but I also find it so important for them to have fun while learning. I have learned games and activities appropriate for different ages and stages of a child's life. So I will do my best to provide that for them always.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny to me, is the bond with the child/children. I never want to just be seen as someone simply watching them until their primary caregiver gets back home. I want to be someone the child looks up to, trusts, and feels close and comfortable too. I will always put the child's needs first and will do my best to give them my all. I love working with children and providing the tools and resources, as well as my knowledge to further their development and learning.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a brother who is Autistic. So I grew experiencing that behavior first hand. Mostly, it is because of him that I have learned patience, kindness, and the realization that every individual is unique and deserving of attention and love. I also volunteered to be a helper every year for special olympics and have worked with special needs kids with my experience of working at the YMCA.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Overall in working with kids, not just as a nanny, I love the moment when a child has that "aha" realization. When a lightbulb has turned on in an experience and they get so happy and proud of themselves in learning something new. I believe this strengthens the bond with a child as well.

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Chesapeake, VA: Aiyanna W.
My name is Aiyanna Washington, and I'm a 20-year-old nanny relocating to the Chesapeake, VA area starting the second week of September. I'm currently seeking a full-time nanny or babysitting opportunity with a kind and welcoming family in the Chesapeake area.
I have over 5 years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages, including newborns, toddlers, and school-aged kids. Since February 2026, I've been nannying for a wonderful family in Philadelphia — caring for them has meant so much to me, and while it's bittersweet to leave, our move to Chesapeake means I'll be looking for a new family to care for. Prior to that, I nannied for a family in Roxborough, PA from April 2022 to December 2022, until they relocated out of state. My most favorite age is the newborn/baby phase, however I love teaching toddlers and watching them grow through reading, fun arts and crafts, outdoor exploring, and learning abc's, numbers and colors!
Looking forward to meeting you and your littles!
