Hello, I’m Alex, an 18-year-old planning on becoming a teacher! I’ve loved the idea of working with kids since I was young. I actually even wanted to be a teacher in kindergarten, and I’m on my way to make 6-year-old Alex’s dream come true! I currently am taking a gap year from college in order to save money for my sophomore year, and what better way to do that then gain experience and do something I love like taking care of your child(ren)?

I’ve never been paid to watch over children but a handful of times, but I am willing to learn and adapt to your child(ren)’s needs! I understand that every child is different and requires an immense amount of patience and understanding as they’re still learning and developing.

I’ve been volunteering with children since middle school. Several times throughout the year, my class would read to children and even travel to elementary schools to help classes. I’m also studying to receive my teaching certificate so I have experience in the psychology of children and their development.

I think the most important part is recognizing that a child is just like you. They have feelings and their own troubles whether that be a poopy diaper or a failing grade. Though children are still developing, they need empathy and, above all, understanding. Every child has their own specific needs and adapting to those needs are detrimental.
