My experience with special needs children...

My half-sister has Downs, and many years ago in NC I hosted a week-long summer camp for people with intellectual disabilities. Friends and family volunteered; it was a packed week of swimming, parks, bowling, etc. We hosted 3 years I believe. Since then I have focused on other volunteer activities, but I would do it again with a good group.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The first day I met the toddler I would nanny, he fell asleep on my shoulder on the couch. I let him sleep for his whole nap, and we were best friends after that. He never cried with me in 8 months
