I have always found it pure joy being around children. When I am watching over children, I try to encourage creative thinking, instill the virtue of patience, and teach the importance of having a lighthearted and energetic spirit. Most importantly, when it comes to childcare, I am dependable and responsible. I am also able to cook, be flexible, and be adaptable to new situations. I believe that intentional investment is vital to teaching children values and principles of life. Being a nursing major, I have taken classes that inform about child psychology and development. This has made me appreciate these bright pupils so much more, and I believe that not only am I able to teach them, but they have full capability to teach me something new and fascinating as well!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During my freshman year of college I worked at an after school program called Belton Christian Youth Center. There I supervised the children making sure they were playing safely, respecting others, and were well-behaved. My position also included preparing after school meals and snacks for the kids as well as cleaning kitchen ware afterwards. Lastly, I helped with tutoring.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When indoor, I have never been a big TV watcher, but I will always enjoy a good movie day with the kids. I have always been into crafts and encouraging creativity, so anything the children are interested in that will allow them to learn, I am more than happy to do with them.
When outdoors, I enjoy going on walks, hikes, or bike rides. I believe that children should get as much fresh air as possible, so whatever the child enjoys doing outside, I am more than happy to join them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing about being a nanny is knowing that these kids are teaching me as well. I have always been an open-minded individual and I believe that everyday I am learning something new. As I encourage and teach the children, they are teaching me how to better myself as a leader, role model, and positive influence on them. It is the children who are growing my patience, and my ability to be creative. Everyday, I want to better myself and be a light to bright young children. They are going to be the generation that takes care of us when we grow old, so we must teach them the virtue of kindness and love. However, through this I know that I will be learning great things from them as well that I can integrate into myself.
