The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, it is allowing the kids to have fun. I want to let their imaginations run where they want it to in a safe way. I love simply just playing games with them like Lava Monster or Tag. For a nanny, I want to create safe places for children to be themselves and explore their world. As well, to help them grow and learn from their mistakes as they begin to navigate the world.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A beautiful moment I had when I was nannying is when I created a themed day. It was "Outdoor Survival" with a 6 year old and 3 year old. It wasn't anything intense, but we played outside pretending to be little survivors. We created a little fake fire and we sat around the stones pretending to be little warriors. They even went off to build and make their own shelter, and I watched how they got really into the game. I saw how much fun they were having with this little themed day, and after that day they constantly asked for another "survival" day.
