Hi there!
My name is Audrey, I just moved to Portland from Bend in September! I have been a trusted nanny and babysitter for many years. I have a 7 year old brother and a 2 year old niece that I absolutely adore. A few years ago, I worked at the Athletic Club of Bend and helped run the seasonal childcare programs, which was a blast! Most recently, I nannied for a family with a newborn and 2 young children. I love kiddos, and I find it fascinating and wonderful watching their personalities bloom and grow! Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been the designated babysitter for family friends my whole life. Holiday childcare programs at the Athletic Club of Bend! Here I mainly worked with children from 4-7 years old. I was a live in nanny out of state for a family with a newborn, a 2 year old, and a 5 year old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a huge fan of creation! Drawing, writing stories, getting crazy with some macaroni or crafting our own Christmas tree ornaments! I am a big fan of reading, whether we read a book together, or have reading times to get into our favorite stories and share what we have read after (depends on age and reading level!). I also like to be outside quite a bit, weather permitting. From neighborhood walks to playgrounds to kicking around a ball, as long as we are getting some fresh air and some motion at least once a day, I am happy! I believe it clears the mind, makes us strong, and increases our wonder in life.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me about being a nanny is being able to be a safe and supportive presence for the kids I work with. I love seeing them grow and discover the world, and supporting their learning and their interests is the most important thing to me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Something I will always remember is when two of my kids (5 and 6 years old) in the Winter camps got in a bit of an argument, and with very little guidance they both shared their feelings, acknowledged each others feelings, and made up with a big hug. I was so proud and absolutely blown away by the way they were able to navigate their big emotions, and I loved to be a part of reinforcing their kindness and understanding toward each other.
