Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am very pro-get-kids-outside! I think it is so important that children get lots of outside time when the weather is good, and I have seen the benefits of this within my own job. In general, I prefer to do very active things with the kids. However, I also love to get them involved in a thinking puzzle game like sudoku, Wordle, or a crossword puzzle. I also love to do crafts or bake and I think it is very important for children to get that creative outlet experience!
The most important part about being a nanny...
is being flexible! Life is chaotic sometimes and it is important to be relaxed and ready for anything a family might need in a pinch. Flexibility is also important because children have varying needs and those must come first.
My experience with special needs children...
At my elementary school job, I have spent many years working with all kinds of children with special needs. I have worked with children with autism, CP, Down syndrome, and epilepsy. I have also worked with children with a variety of accommodations needed in school such as children with ADHD, dyslexia, and speech disorders.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment watching children is being voted the favorite teacher by all the kids at my elementary school! I adore them and that made me feel so special!!!
