A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Gena Gloster. I am a devoted childcare professional with a unique passion for supporting children and families. After working as a school bus driver, I transitioned to a role as a Behavior Technician & Infant Teacher, driven by a desire to make a positive impact during the critical early stages of a child's life.
My passion for childcare and family support is deeply personal. After the loss of my son during childbirth, I found a renewed purpose in helping families navigate the joys and challenges of parenting. As a PPD, I provide nurturing support to new parents, and as an infant teacher, I focus on creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for little ones.
Whether you need help with newborn care or support with older children, I am dedicated to providing a calm, compassionate, and professional presence for your family.
I look forward to the opportunity to share my care and expertise, making a meaningful difference in the lives of the families I work with.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for children as an infant teacher and postpartum doula, where I create safe and nurturing learning environments for babies and toddlers. As a PPD, I've provided 1-on-1 support to families with newborns, ensuring both the baby's and parents'/family needs are met with compassion. Additionally, my background as a school bus driver and autism behavior technician has equipped me with strong skills in safety, patience, and managing group dynamics with school-aged children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

*INFANTS (0-12mts)
Key Milestones: Rapid physical growth, first smiles, crawling & first words(mama/dada).
Focus & Activities: Bonding, sensory exploration, basic motor skill development, tummy time play, story time, etc.
*TODDLERS & PRESCHOOLERS (1-6yrs)
Key Milestones: Walking, running, early speech development, & basic independence. Pre-k: early literacy/numeracy skills, building social skills, creativity/problem solving.
Focus & Activities: Gross & fine motor skills, language acquisition, & social emotional development, arts/crafts, building/stacking, puzzles/matching games, outdoor play & strolls (when permitted), water play (when permitted), etc. Pre-k: creative arts, science experiments, sports/active, cooking/baking (when permitted), etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's very important that nannies truly wholeheartedly & unconditionally enjoy children and engaging with them. Time & experiences shouldn't be wasted as a child. Children should be learning, exploring, and growing mentally as much as physically. All those things come from the adults & influences in their lives and parents can't possibly do every single thing, “it takes a village”. Children shape the world ahead, and I hope to be the supportive, steady presence I was lucky to have growing up.

My experience with special needs children...

**I Am RBT Certified, currently doing ABA with kids with autism. I also have experience with Spina bifida, Speech impediment, a wide range of special needs, motor skills and much more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was during a rainy afternoon when the little girl I cared for asked if we could “catch rainbows.” She didn’t fully understand how rainbows worked, but her curiosity was contagious. We spent an hour sitting by the window, holding up a glass prism I had brought, watching it scatter little rainbows across the walls. Her eyes lit up every time a new one appeared, and she squealed, “We made magic!” It was such a simple moment, but her wonder and joy made it unforgettable.

These little moments of curiosity and connection make the job so special!
