A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Grace, a caring and energetic nanny with about six years of experience caring for kids of all ages—from infants to preteens (including twins and siblings!). I grew up with a single mom who worked a lot, so babysitters played a huge role in my childhood. They were people I looked up to, and now I love being that kind of positive, supportive person for someone else’s kids.

I’ve also worked as a summer nanny and camp counselor, where I led activities like crafts, sports, swimming, and games. Those roles taught me how to keep things fun while creating a safe and consistent routine. I know a hood amount of ASL, which I enjoy teaching to curious little ones.

Families describe me as dependable, bubbly, and full of energy—I’m always down for an adventure, a dance party, or a cozy story before bed. I also have lots of pet-sitting experience, so furry friends are no problem!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing outdoor activities like going to the park or simply going for a walk. On rainy days I like to stay in and play board games with kids, I also love doing arts and crafts or just making up a fantasy world with the children and playing make believe for a while. I found most kids come up with some extremely creative things.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is going with the flow. Every child is different and will need different things. Some days a child may want to run around and play and other days they may need to relax. It’s is truly all about listening to the child and providing them with what they need. It is about being flexible and understanding all the big feelings these little humans have and being there to help them navigate them.

My experience with special needs children...

I nannied for a family with 5 boys, the oldest being 13 and he was autistic. He was verbal ut still needed that extra level of care which I was more than happy to provide. I have taken classes at NYU on special education so I felt I had some of the tools needed to be able to adequately care for him.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nannying moment was actually when I was watching my two younger cousins. I am big on “adventures” and I’d always ask them do you wanna go on an adventure it could be anything from going to the store to heading out to a park or being outdoors and playing a game. Well now for like birthdays or any sorta of holiday I always ask them what they want and they always say an adventure. I find it so heart warming that young children rather than asking for a tangible item, request quality time! I was so happy to have instilled in them the desire for real in person fun over a present!
