A little bit about me

I have worked professionally in childcare for 6+ years. I have been a nanny for two separate families, ages ranging from 11 months to 9 years. I have 60 hours of CDA certifications and specialized infant safety risk training. I am currently a preschool teacher, but I also have experience as an infant teacher.

I am moving to New York City from Memphis, TN, on June 13th, 2026. I am excited about the move, but there are a few different reasons that I am switching back to this specific sector of childcare. I love my current job; however, I have found myself reflecting on my time as a nanny. Working for a private household made my passion feel more like a purpose. It's the chance to form a more impactful relationship on levels that aren't possible as a teacher. It was so special take part in the growth of those three children. To love them and be loved by them deeply was a chance of a lifetime. Moving forward into this next chapter, I am looking for an opportunity to have that again!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To do this line of work, you have to love it with everything in you and that love can’t be conditional. I was blessed with an eye for the beauty of it all. The beauty in being a child’s support system and everything that comes with it. To be the one they look for to kiss every boo boo and celebrate even the littlest of wins. Watching a child learn from a mistake and giving them the confidence to try again. I can’t express what an honor it is to be given that opportunity. Greatness cannot be expected if it is not nurtured from the start. These babies are learning how to be people from us, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. All children are precious but I would love the chance to know what makes yours truly special.

My experience with special needs children...

As a preschool teacher, I currently care for a total of 5 children with varying special needs. I come from a family of neurodivergent siblings. My brother has autism, and my sister has a rare brain disease called PANDAS. I have had to learn many different tactics to help my siblings get through attacks and discomfort. I have learned so many things about neurodiversity and how to assist in de-escalating different overwhelming scenarios. I have the knowledge, compassion, and patience to work with all children, including those with special needs.
