More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have a ton of diverse experience working with kids!
In high school, I babysat a ton, for several different, amazing families, with kids of all ages and abilities!
I also grew up swimming competitively, so I have taught swim lessons for years!
I volunteered at a special needs school in high school and helped start a ministry for high schoolers with special needs!
And, most recently, for the last three summers, I have worked at summer camp and have loved every second of it!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing anything fun! Playing with their favorite toys, running around outside, doing crafts, or really whatever makes their little faces light up with joy! I also love teaching kids to swim and would love to spend some time at the pool!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I want the kids to just feel loved and I want them to know that I'm always there for them and I'm someone they can rely on!
My experience with special needs children...
I've had a lot of experience with kids with all different kinds of special needs!
I volunteered at a special needs school under a speech pathologist, working with kids who have diagnoses varying from Autism, to Down Syndrome, to Cerebal Palsy and all kinds of challenges in between!
I also babysat for a family with a son with limb differences that required extensive adaptations and braces.
And personally, I have a rare genetic disorder that causes a variety of symptoms (though none inhibit my ability to nanny), and want to become a child life specialist and work with kids facing chronic illness, so I'm comfortable with medically complex children as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...
I've never had been a "nanny" but babysitting, I had these three little girls I would babysit for, and they lived right behind my high school, and I would often babysit on weekends. So, this was cleared with their mom, but I would come over and surprise the girls with face paint and school shirts and beads and other spirit gear, and we'd "sneak" through the bushes to different sporting events and such and it was always just such a blast!
