More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've run horse camps for kids where I would look after a groups of 10 or more while working with horses. I also grew up with 3 younger siblings all my life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love exploring with kids. I used to take my young kids to the playground, the children's library or the rose garden in San Jose. We'd go on walks, play outside and do art projects every single day. My nanny kids eventually came up with their favorite activities like "catch the tiger" or "The penguin march" and I would go along with whatever their creative minds could come up with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing about being a nanny is family, those kids become family and will be cared for as such.

My experience with special needs children...

I am not trained for special needs children however I did grow up with my little brother who has Autism/ Asperger's and I got a lot of my patience from him.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would have to say it was an afternoon I was watching two of my kids (4 and 7 yrs old) and the 4 yr old was throwing a large tantrum because of her mom being gone. She was bawling her eyes out in her room and I went to comfort her. At first I was overwhelmed but then I decided to level with her and told her "sometimes I miss my mommy too." after I said this she crawled out of her bed into my lap and sobbed for a little while till finally her mood pick back up and we all had some snacks. Anyway this instance really showed me how important my role can be for a child. Not only being a caregiver and staying healthy but to be there emotionally and hold their hand when they need it.
