BIO
I have been a parent for 30 years and have 3 children, ages range from 14yrs to 30yrs old. I was also a Preschool /Jr. K teacher for over 11yrs. So, including my professional career and personal life, I have 28 years of experience all together. Let me just say that working with children and adults is a passion of mine, it's warms my heart knowing I can make a difference in someone's life. Personally I feel that children are the most precious gift we are given and it is our duty to teach, protect and love them unconditionally, whether it's our own child(ren) or someone Else's child. I am also a qualified Medical Assistant with CPR & first aid training. It makes a difference when you know your child(ren) is in the care of someone that can implement a wide range of stability within your home and the care of your loved one(s).

I am an empty-nesting mother of three. I raised my kids in San Jose Ca, where they attended the local public schools. My husband's job was relocated to India in 2008, where my kids and I moved for 10 years. My daughter played college tennis (with me as her #1 fan!) and is now finishing up her last year of medical school, and both my sons now work in the Bay area at prominent tech startups.

In my younger days, I was an Indian nationally ranked tennis player (#3). I love staying active (at some point I think my children got tired of me :) ).

I'm famous for my chicken curry and homemade pizza (we have a wood fire oven at our home!). I understand firsthand the stress of raising thoughtful, generous, and smart kids in an increasingly chaotic world, and I would be honored to help other families in whatever way I can.

Araceli Bibian
San Jose$28/hr  |  3 yrs experience
Hello! My name is Araceli Bibian and I have a lot of experience working with children. When my brother was little my parents were always working so I was the one who took care of him. Then I became the nanny of a little girl from 3 months of age until she was about 3 1/2 but then I stopped because I started school. I went to school to become an Elementary school teacher and obtained my BA but started working in a preschool and fell in love with that age group. I have now been working at a preschool for over 2 years and I love working there! This year I'm looking for a summer job as a nanny and I look forward to helping out families with their children if they allow me to do so. I'm patient, caring, energetic, and ready to keep children engaged in different activities.

The Shifren Family

Looking for another family to host a nanny share Jan 2021. Baby girl joins us early October 2020.

We've had a wonderful arrangement and nanny for the past two years for two boys about the same age. October will be the end of our current contract.

We are looking to repeat a similar arrangement with another family with an infant or who also are expecting soon or have recently had a baby so schedules can line up.

We have a plug and play situation including:
* Caring Spanish/English speaking Nanny available full-time employment 40 hrs a week
* Solid working contract with p. t. o
* Easy to use payroll company for payroll and taxes
* items that make watching over two infants/toddlers easier including: Double strollers, folding crib, baby monitors, etc.
* Desire for social interaction and socialization despite needing to limit contacts due to Covid.

We follow social distancing protocols. We have temporal thermometers.

Use Hatch app to monitor our boy to get onto a schedule, and with boys naptimes and schedules now regular and well-coordinated we think this would be a great tool for both families.

If you are willing to host and open to considering this as an option, please reach out.

My husband and I both work full time and have a dog at home. With my maternity leave ending January 2021 would like to discuss as soon as possible.

Our weekly schedule can be between 8-4 or 9-5 schedule Monday through Fridays. We are pretty laid back and appreciate good communication.

Thank you for reading,
Claire

Just browsing. First time mom, expecting our baby June 2021 and exploring nanny share options.
The Lucas Family
San Jose$25/hr  |  2 kids
A little bit about us-I have an almost 4 year old little boy named Julian, and a sweet little girl named Sunny that is almost 15 months. We are looking for help on Friday mornings (usually around 8 or 9-1), occasional date nights (which at this point consist of picking up food to go and eating at a park; typically we put the kids to bed and so we just need a responsible body in the house while we are out), and occasional weekends (a Saturday or Sunday every 4-6 weeks or so for half a day, very flexible, and would be with both kids).
On Friday mornings it would just be you and my daughter as I run a few errands (these days, basically just grocery shopping)...Ideally I'd like someone that can be with us long term and become kind of like a member of our family
Other duties would include folding the family laundry (although not required)
Thank you

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in San Jose, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

San Jose Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in San Jose? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in San Jose?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
