Hi! My name is Havana Skorman, and I’m a responsible and energetic college student based in San Francisco but attend college in San Jose. I have several years of experience working with children. I’ve cared for kids through both babysitting and coaching, including working as a junior soccer coach where I led activities, supported skill development, and built strong relationships with both children and their families. I genuinely enjoy creating a fun, engaging environment where kids feel comfortable, supported, and excited to play and learn. I’m naturally very outgoing and love connecting with kids through games, conversations, and creative activities. People often tell me I have a special ability to connect with children and make them feel at ease. My goal is to always make them see me less as a caretaker and more as a friend. In addition to childcare, I have experience in customer service and managing responsibilities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite activity to do with kids is play games, especially board games because I think they’re crucial to kids development and learning new skills. And I also very much enjoy board games myself and find them to be a lot of fun. I love DIY arts and crafts like making slime, making clothes, or anything that is creative. I also am a huge cook myself and love making fun dishes for kids to try and teaching them how to cook. I love to draw or paint and my most favorite activity is playing sports with kids and teaching them new skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing as a nanny is obviously to keep a child safe, but I think something that is just as important is to make sure that a kid feels like they have a friend. I think it’s extremely important to make kids feel confident and comfortable with you. Especially as a girl I think it’s really important for young girls to have a role model to look up to and be able to talk to if in need of advice or guidance. So for me, making a kid feel completely understood and comfortable with me is the BIGGEST goal of mine as a nanny!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment has always been when kids will ask their parents for me to see them more than what is being asked. This has happened to me a lot but one moment that stood out was back when I was a soccer coach at a summer camp. A girl had made me a necklace with her name and my name on it and I still haven't had it 3 years later because it was so sweet.
