A little bit about me

I can help with homework, bus pickup, meal prep, animal care, light housekeeping, etc. I’m looking for anything except live-in and overnights. I am very flexible with schedules and am normally able come in if you need me for emergencies, wether if I’m scheduled to work or not. I’m great with toddlers, especially. I’ve also taken childhood development classes as well as teaching several pre-k and kindergarten classes and running a daycare. I can work most holidays as well, and if needed, we can discuss it if you need me on a holiday I can’t work. I consider myself to be a very gentle, respectful, and caring person and I love working with children. I’m also good with children not in school yet, and I’m good at planning days and enrichment activities and such.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I taught pre-k for two years, as well as ran a daycare at my high school and have taken childhood development classes and used to babysit my young nieces, 3 young girls from 2-9 years old.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy coloring with children, making arts and crafts, dace parties, making them laugh, going on adventures, going on walks, sports, playing dress up, baking, tea parties, telling stories, and so much more. I love working with children and am open to doing whatever they’d like.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, in my opinion, is first and foremost safety. Making sure the children are safe is always my number one priority. The second most important part about being a nanny, to me, is following the family’s beliefs and rules, and overall making sure the children are cared for, but also are enjoying their time with me and know that they can come to me if they need something. It’s very important to me that the children I’m watching are happy and healthy, and they they are excited to start their days with me. Another important thing to me is that I don’t have too much repetition in their daily routine. Not so much that they are bored every day. Adding enrichment and activity and making sure they’re getting the most out of the day is really important to me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment with children, not nessecarily a nanny moment, was one day during my pre-k class, one of my students runs up to me and tackles me and hugs me. He asked me if I like his shoes every day, and every time, I HAD to say "that’s so cool dude!" or else he growls. He had serious family issues, and missed kindergarten by one day, so he was bigger than all of the other kids and didn’t quite fit in because of it. His parents were going through a divorce and he hadn’t seen his dad in a while. He tended to get angry pretty often and occasionally violent. He had issues with his babysitter as well. I was the only person who he’d actually let get through to him, and he only wanted to be around me. It warmed my heart knowing I could make his day a little better. I know he really needed to be able to laugh.
