Hi!!! I’ve been nannying for a beautiful family for about 6 years now and I adore and love kids! Just here to do what I can to make YOUR life easier! Looking right now for weekend work only! I do have a family I nanny for currently. I also work part time at a preschool! I am currently in school working to get my Early Childhood Education AA degree! I’m very experienced with ages 0-7! I have all my certifications, and backround checks if needed. I’m very flexible with parenting styles but I prefer to use gentle parenting styles and lots of love! I have studied a lot on the montessori method and I think it’s wonderful. I enjoy being outdoors and exploring! If you have any questions I would love to answer them for you!

"I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Brook for the position of a nanny. I have had the privilege of knowing Brook for the past year, during which time she has been an invaluable and dedicated caregiver to my son. Her reliability, patience, and kindness have consistently impressed me, making her an exceptional choice for any family seeking a nurturing and responsible nanny. One of Brook’s most outstanding qualities is her exceptional patience. She has an innate ability to remain calm and composed even in challenging situations, making her an ideal caregiver for children of all ages. I have witnessed her handling temper tantrums and difficult behavior with grace and understanding, always seeking to find constructive ways to address and resolve any issues that may arise. I wholeheartedly recommend Brook for the nanny position. Should you have any further questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me."

A little bit about us…

We have one little boy who will be 3 months old in July. He's super easy and is amazingly already on a pretty good schedule! We both work shift work (our schedules change every 2 weeks) and will need someone for early mornings (4-5am) until about 2pm a couple days a week for 2 weeks. We will also need someone from about 12pm until 5pm a couple days a week for 2 weeks. Days needed are always rotating and we're looking for someone flexible to help us accommodate our schedules! If you think this might be the job for you, we will gladly sit down and explain the shift schedules so everyone has an understanding of what's needed. We can also tell you as far in advance as needed, which days we will need covered and the times needed.

We also have 3 dogs who are super friendly when they get to know you. They're pretty low maintenance and would only need to be let out to use the bathroom a couple times throughout the day.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Hanover, PA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Hanover Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Hanover? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Hanover?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in PA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
