More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as an English teacher for 8 years. My time teaching allowed me to work with and care for hundreds of wonderfully bright young students. I was a part of a team of teachers trained in implementing positive discipline methods. We would connect with the child through affection and guidance to foster positive behavioral changes and promote overall well-being.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to use outdoor activities for corporal expression such as age appropriate play that includes stretching, dance, running, and/or sports. Essentially taking advantage of anything we have access to that can be used for planned or improvised play.
When playing indoors I really enjoy cooking with kids, I find its a way where kids can practice following instructions, working together, develop their listening, reading comprehension and teamwork skills. Also to engage kids indoors I have enjoyed everything from fun theater plays to creative story telling to mystery games. I always try to make opportunities for kids to develop imagination, critical thinking, reading skills and problem solving skills . Rainy days are perfect for big and little ones to get in fine motor skills time with sensory play and/or arts and crafts.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I think it is very human work and I think everyday is an opportunity to learn new things. As the years go on I learn and understand more about children, every year my passion grows because of my experiences. To be a nanny is to respect very much what children want to share with you, it isn't only taking care it's about listening closely to them and trying to understand what they want want and need you to know. Being a nanny is to take on the responsibility of being a role model and understand that kids absorb so much from observations and experiences with you. I consider myself to be a good an example for kids by always showing respect and a team work attitude especially as being a nanny is like becoming a part of the family unit.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with children on the ADHD and Autism spectrum and children with dwarfism. In all cases I would be an adult there to ensure their experiences were heard and seen and that they have access to what they need to succeed in their environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Playing freeze dance and The Floor is Lava with the kids! They have so much fun and we end up laughing a lot.

I’m a 23-year-old from Sioux City, Iowa, where I was born and raised alongside my three siblings. I have a deep love for nature and enjoy spending time outdoors whenever I can. I’m especially close to my dog, Apollo, a German Shepherd mix. I take pride in my patience, especially when working with children. Currently, I work as a paraprofessional in a high school, supporting students with special educational and behavioral needs. In my free time, I enjoy trying new foods and listening to music.

Hi! My name is Megan and I'm an incoming college freshman looking for an occasional/part time job. I've never been a nanny but spent a lot of time with kids whenever I would visit my grandma during the summer. I like to write and enjoy all sorts of art and would love to get into pottery sometime in the near future.

I really enjoy taking care of and sharing with children, as well as proposing different activities and games. I'm a very patient person.
Furthermore, I consider that spending time with children, avoiding screens and other external means of entertainment, are very important for their development.
