My experience with special needs children...
I grew up living with a special needs person, whom is my brother. I also cared for a twin baby that was autistic and I would care for my friends son who was non-verbal and was autistic as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have way too many favorite nanny moments to count but my most recent one was when I was caring for a baby and a toddler. Before I started working with this family the parents warned me that the baby cries with almost everyone except the parents. Which I learned was true as I started caring for him but then on the second week as I came in the house to care for both children the baby looked at me and smiled so big and that melted my heart!!! His mom said “He likes you!!! He cries for everyone even his grandparents, aunts and uncles but look how excited he is to see you!” Also that same day as I am taking the children on a walk the toddler saids to me “you’re a really fun person, I like you.” I said to myself this is why I love doing what I do. I swear children are the BEST!!!!
