A little bit about me

Hello! I'm a parent of a teen (just off to college!), a long time school/little league volunteer (my son did Montessori through middle school), former Santaland elf, a professional tour guide, and started in 2019 being employed by a neighbor for mornings getting her preschooler and kindergartner to school and summer camps. I watched them part-time through pandemic times and virtual schooling and then switched to another family with twins who are now 7yo, also doing the morning 'get them off to school' shift (I've also done the 'pick them up from school shift'). I enjoy meeting kids on their level and helping them navigate being themselves. I believe in being a full household helper, and try to tidy things during my time in your home. I'm a cat lover and happy to attend to pets as well.
* During peak tour season (June-Oct), my availability is less, especially on Fridays.

I've been a room and team parent, field trip chaperone, assisted with in-class crafting, and led school trip nature hikes at Tryon Creek.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I mostly follow their lead! This can be arts and crafts, legos, toy trains, walks/biking/parks, reading, singing/dancing, and cooking/baking. I prefer not to spend time with media (watching videos, gaming).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being an extra hand in the family life. Making things easier for the parents and the overall home life. Following the child and their needs.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have any specific training, but the boy I watch in the early mornings was recently diagnosed with autism.
